Your morning rituals are crucial to starting the work day off right. If things go well, you are in a good mood and you have the best chances of continuing to have a great day. If things start off on the wrong foot… It can be tough to get back on track!
My mornings
β I like to start my day with a cup of coffee and a tidy space. All through the morning, I’ve been thinking of different things I want to do today, so I start my work day by extracting all of these into a segmented To Do list in my planner, along with anything I had already planned in for today from before.
π§ One of the first tasks I like to complete is replying to any new correspondenceβ¦ Chuck the ball into the other person’s court. I don’t want to be the one holding up our progress!
π© If I don’t manage to get my list together or my space is untidy, I carry that disorder with me through the rest of the day.
π Working from home for myself, I don’t have these built-in social opportunities anymore, so I organise co-working sessions which begin by sharing our intentions for the day.
π In previous jobs I sometimes did a whistle stop tour to say good morning to my colleagues before fully settling in. Or a longer check-in with my closest colleagues.
