Format

Psychological Safety at Work Workshops build connection, community and trust using psychosomatic principles.

Introduction. Setting clear expectations for the container. Addressing uncertainty. Clarity and collective understanding allows the brain to relax, and participants to feel safe dropping in to their bodies.

Activites and reflections. Each activity is clearly explained and demonstated. Participants are empowered to join in ways that work for them. After each activity we reflect on the experience, and draw out lessons for the workplace community and company culture. We proceed at a comfortable pace, to allow participants to adapt to new environments and modes of interaction without overreaching.

Psychological Safety is a psychosomatic feeling, felt in the human body in relation to other humans. These Masterclasses use embodiment, somatics, movement and touch-based practices to engage the nervous system, practice coregulation and develop a mutually supportive soft skills. These practices from modalities such as AcroYoga/partner acrobatics, partner and solo dance, contact improv, fighting, wrestling, massage, authentic relating, circling, etc. The body is a powerful tool to provoke insights about ourselves and the ways we interact with others. Partnered and group activities allow us to work on interpersonal soft skills directly, and are a direct channel into coregulation and building psychological safety.

Closing. We close the container with reflection, gratitudes and intention setting to bring these lessons back to the “real world.”

The entire session is built upon a culture of consent. Participants are not pressured to engage in any activity they are not comfortable with. Individuals and the group decides how deep to go, depending on their openness and comfort.

Some example activities:

  • Embodiment practices to improve awareness and make everything that comes more grounded and authentic
  • Ice-breaking activities to dissolve internal blockages and bring down barriers between people
  • Connection pratices to improve trust, empathy and communication in the group
  • Deep dive on empathetic 1-1s
