How does Consent Coaching work?

Consent Coaching is Person-Centered

Every person’s experience and needs are unique. People seek Consent Coaching for a variety of reasons, and the process is tailored to support their individual growth. While the core framework remains consistent, each coaching journey is shaped around the specific challenges and goals of the individual.

The first step is an initial phone call to discuss your situation, clarify your needs, and outline broad goals for the process.

In our first session, we focus on building trust, empathy, and good communication. With this foundation in place, we can map out the next steps and begin the deeper work.

What happens during a session?

Sessions take place in person or via video call, depending on what best supports the work. Some aspects of coaching, particularly those involving relationa practices, can only be done in person.

Each session begins with embodiment practices and a check-in, allowing you to land in your body for the session.

The coaching journey moves through several key phases, tailored to your individual needs:

  • Embodiment – Developing somatic and emotional awareness.
  • Self-Awareness – Examining your attitudes, patterns, motivations, and behaviors.
  • Empathy – Recognizing the impact of your actions on others.
  • Ownership – Taking responsibility, offering genuine apologies, and making meaningful repairs.
  • Education – Deepening your understanding of consent, trauma, attachment, and power dynamics.
  • Skill-Building – Strengthening your consent, communication, and boundary-setting practices.
  • Self-Trust – Rebuilding confidence in your ability to navigate relationships with integrity.
  • Accountability – Establishing a structure for long-term awareness and change.
  • Commitment – Defining personal goals and taking actionable steps.
  • Reintegration – Finding a grounded and ethical path forward.

  • Exploring key concepts around consent, power, trauma, and relationships.
  • Learning and practicing communication and consent techniques.
  • Reviewing progress, setting goals, and making adjustments.
  • Receiving emotional support in a structured and safe environment.

This process is designed to help you gain clarity, develop new skills, and move forward with confidence and integrity.

Who is this coaching not for?

People with a history of sexual violence, ongoing investigations, or criminal behavior

If this applies to you, I strongly encourage seeking professional legal, psychological, or restorative justice support.

Individuals experiencing significant mental health challenges or instability

If you are struggling with your mental well-being, I recommend reaching out to a qualified therapist or medical professional who can provide the right kind of support.

Disclaimer

I (Treasure) am only human. I have made mistakes, impacted others, and felt the impact on my own life. My personal growth journey around consent and communication was accelerated by these issues. This drove me to significant attitude and behavioural changes through learning and self-work. I take responsibility for my actions. A part of my journey forward is through Embrace Connections, to share the lessons I have learned so far and help prevent or support similar issues.

I am not a trained counselor, psychotherapist or medical practitioner. We must take care about approaching certain issues and conditions. If you have trauma and triggers, we can collaborate to work with/around them. Sometimes, the most appropriate solution is a 3rd party service instead.
